Point Loma Nazarene University Child Care Assistance
Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) is a private Christian liberal arts college located on the Point Loma oceanfront in San Diego, CA.
It is one of eight U.S. liberal arts colleges and universities affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, with nearly 3,000 undergraduates enrolled in 2017. PLNU offers a bachelor’s degree in child development that equips students for a wide range of professional settings.
If you are in the Point Loma community or are teaching or studying at PLNU, the college offers on-campus Child Care services through its Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC).
Child Care Assistance for Full-time Students, Teachers, and Employees
The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is a laboratory school that provides additional experience for PLNU students. The curriculum designed as the two years prior to entering kindergarten (based on California’s September 1st deadline) and serves children from 3 years old to kindergarten age. There are generally 12 children per classroom each day, with numerous enrollment options. Choose between Full Day programs (7:30 am – 5pm) or Mornings (8:30am – 11:30am) on your choice of days: Tuesdays and Thursdays; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; or Monday through Friday. Children enrolled in full day programs receive a hot lunch and nap, and all children receive nutritional snacks in the morning.
Child Care Assistance for Full-time Students
PLNU also participates in Uloop, a student powered News and Classifieds platform for colleges and universities. Here, students can independently post jobs specifically for babysitting and nannying.
Child Care Assistance for Teachers and Employees
Through a partner Point Loma Nazarene University provides employees an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers confidential services for both the employee and his or her family members. Among those services are unlimited referrals for Child Care services.
